Reducing the stigma, one step at a time

On March 25, 2014, Nick Healey, a Founding Father/Founding Vice-President at the SFU Chapter of the Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity (ΔΚΕ), lost his battle against his mental health. Nick’s larger than life personality, selflessness, leadership, and camaraderie are traits that are never forgotten but are missed every day.

To honour Nick, the Nick Healey Hike for Mental Health emerged from the SFU Chapter of ΔΚΕ out of a pursuit to inspire and support the community, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words. 

Since our inaugural hike in 2019, we have raised $6,715 for the Canadian Mental Health Association, in which funds raised goes directly to help assist in youth programs for children in need.
